Slade Valley Golf Club have a vacancy for a full time Head Greenkeeper. The role is to
lead and manage the routine golf course maintenance tasks, under the guidance of the
Greens Committee. A qualification in turf, horticulture, and/or machine maintenance is
desirable.
Responsibilities of the Role
Competent in the correct use of environmentally friendly treatments to control weeds, fungal diseases and pests
Mowing of turf (fairway, surrounds, greens, and rough) and use of mechanically propelled vehicles such as tractors, top dressers, utility vehicles and sprayers
Treating turf to ensure consistent playing surfaces
Renovating and maintaining bunkers and other hazards
Setting up the golf course each day for play including the layout of the course e.g. tee marker placement and cutting of new hole locations
Maintain good standards of health and safety for self and others
Complete any training that is provided on by the Golf Club
All other head greenkeeping related duties and any tasks requested by the
Greens Committee.
Requirements of the Role
The ability to lead and direct a team of grounds staff
Work on one's own initiative
To be available for work Monday through Sunday
Excellent time keeping
An understanding of how a golf course should be maintained and presented in top condition
Ability to work outdoors for 12 months of the year;
Full driving license.
Remuneration:
A remuneration package commensurate with the role will be offered to the successful candidate.
