Full job description:

Naas Racecourse is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our grounds team. The successful candidate will assist in the preparation and maintenance of the racing surfaces and surrounding areas, ensuring the highest standards are maintained for both racing and other events.


This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a keen interest in turf management, agriculture, horticulture, or sports turf who is eager to learn and develop within a busy racecourse environment.


Reporting to: Head Groundsman


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of all racing surfaces to the highest possible standard.
  • Carry out routine maintenance of the racecourse, parade ring, stable yard and surrounding landscaped areas.
  • Operate machinery and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Assist with irrigation, fertiliser applications, aeration, seeding and general turf management practices.
  • Prepare the racecourse and associated facilities for racedays and other events.
  • Work as part of the Grounds Team to ensure all areas are presented to a high standard throughout the year.
  • Comply with all health and safety procedures and company policies.


Candidate Requirements

  • Enthusiastic with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and on one's own initiative.
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and racedays.
  • Previous experience in grounds maintenance or agriculture is desirable but not essential.
  • Full driving licence required.
