Full job description:

We are looking for a person that is passionate about golf course maintenance. An individual who
has a proven track record, who can work on their own initiative, is ambitious, a team player and
is looking to further their career with an employer that will nurture and develop your talent.


This highly motivated individual will report directly to the Golf Course Superintendent. Under their
supervision, you will be challenged and encouraged to develop your skills and knowledge. You
will also be mentored in how to manage, motivate and lead a team from the front.

Key Responsibilities:
 Cutting of greens, tees, surrounds, fairways, rough and semi rough.
 Maintaining bunkers.
 Carry out routine repairs.
 Carry out standard aeration work.
 Set up the golf course, including changing holes, moving tee markers, emptying bins, cleaning
surfaces of debris.
 Maintaining trees and shrubs on the golf course
 General spraying duties with both Knapsack and boom sprayers.
 Be able to use, understand and carry out minor repairs on the irrigation system, be familiar with
programming, water usage etc.
 Check machinery before and after use and report any irregularities to the superintendent.
 Maintain good standards of health and safety for self and others.
 Understanding the rules of golf relating to golf course maintenance.
 Communicating effectively to all team members in the venue and golfers on the course.
 Lead the team when the superintendent is on leave.
 Maintain excel maintenance records of all activities.
 Understand how the Purchase Order system for procurement works.
 Be able to understand and track spend in relation to the annual budget.
 Be involved in the drafting and implementation of the annual maintenance plan.


Required Education, Skills and Qualifications:

 Spraying certs, Chainsaw cert, Manual Handling cert.
 Greenkeeping diploma/certificate is an advantage but not a necessity.
