About Kanturk Golf Club
Kanturk Golf Club is a proud and growing community-based club located in the heart of North Cork. We are investing in our facilities, course quality and long-term development to provide an outstanding golfing experience for our members and visitors. As part of this growth, we are seeking a motivated and proactive Greenkeeper to join our team and contribute to the future of the club.


Role Overview
This role will be responsible for the maintenance, presentation and overall care of the golf course. The role is ideal for someone early in their greenkeeping career or with a few years’ experience, who is enthusiastic about turf management, enjoys working outdoors, and wants to grow professionally as the club continues to invest in its future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the day-to-day maintenance of the golf course to a high standard.
  • Carry out mowing of greens, tees, fairways and roughs.
  • Maintain bunkers, pathways and practice areas.
  • Support aeration, scarification, topdressing and other turf-care practices.
  • Operate and maintain greenkeeping machinery and equipment (training provided as needed).
  • Set up the course each day, including hole changing, tee marker placement and hazard maintenance.
  • Assist with irrigation operation, minor repairs and water management.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with health and safety guidelines.
  • Work proactively with the Course Superintendent/Head Greenkeeper as part of a small, committed team.
  • Contribute to course development plans and future course capex and infrastructure investment plans

 
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:

  • A strong work ethic with a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Enjoys outdoor work and a flexible work schedule
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and develop greenkeeping skills.
  • Flexible working hours

 
Desirable: 

  • Previous experience in greenkeeping, landscaping, horticulture or a similar field.
  • Basic understanding of turf care, machinery operation or irrigation.
  • Relevant training (e.g., FETAC/QQI, Teagasc, or equivalent) is an advantage but not essential.
  • PA1, 2 or 6 spray certs
