Ballina Golf Club is a proud and welcoming community-based club. As part of our continued development, we are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Greenkeeper to join our team.

Role Overview This is an entry-level role focused on the day-to-day care and presentation of the golf course. It is perfect for someone at the start of their greenkeeping career who enjoys working outdoors, has a strong work ethic, and is eager to learn and develop within a supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the daily maintenance of the golf course to a high standard.
• Carry out mowing of greens, tees, fairways and roughs.
• Maintain bunkers, pathways and practice areas.
• Support aeration, scarification, topdressing and other turf-care practices.
• Operate and maintain greenkeeping machinery and equipment (full training provided).
• Set up the course each day, including hole changing, tee marker placement and hazard maintenance.
• Assist with irrigation operation and water management.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with health and safety guidelines.
• Work as part of a small, close-knit team under the guidance of the Head Greenkeeper.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

• A strong work ethic with a positive, can-do attitude.
• Enjoyment of outdoor work and willingness to work a flexible schedule.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Eagerness to learn and develop greenkeeping skills.

Desirable:

• Some previous experience in greenkeeping, landscaping, horticulture or a similar outdoor role (not essential).
• Basic awareness of turf care or machinery operation.
• Relevant training (e.g., FETAC/QQI, Teagasc or equivalent) is an advantage but not required.
• PA1, 2 or 6 spray certs an advantage.
