About Noordwijkse Golf Club

Set among the dramatic dunes of the Dutch coast, 35-minutes from Amsterdam, Noordwijkse Golf Club is regarded as one of the finest links courses on the European continent. Spanning 68 hectares of undulating terrain, the course offers a classic links experience, blending natural beauty with challenging play. The course regularly plays host to elite level competition.

This is a rare opportunity to manage the renowned links course at Noordwijkse Golf Club, as we embark on the most ambitious renovation in our history. We are reconstructing 19 greens, all green surrounds, bunkers and many tees. The construction also includes two new par 3 holes and a major upgrade of the irrigation system. The first phase (smallest of three) will be executed this coming summer. The new Course Manager will thus “board a running train,” inheriting a pivotal role in a project that will shape the future of our club for decades to come.

Our current, highly respected Course Manager has played a key role in improving Noordwijkse Golf Club over the past five years. Although he has thoroughly enjoyed his time with us and looks forward to seeing the club’s transformation unfold, he is moving on to pursue a unique personal and professional opportunity abroad. We are grateful for his contributions and genuinely wish him every success. We are now seeking a passionate and capable individual to guide our course into its exciting future.

Founded in 1915, Noordwijkse’s origins are steeped in national history and prestige. It is a private member’s club with an informal atmosphere, an active club-life, a passion for competitive play and a high appreciation for course quality.
Noordwijkse is located within a Natura 2000 habitat, a protected European ecological network. This designation requires all maintenance and development activities to comply with strict environmental regulations and champion sustainability. It requires balancing course quality with biodiversity conservation and habitat protection.

Renovation Project Outline

The renovation project is a comprehensive, phased development taking place over the summers of 2025, 2026, and 2027. This phased approach ensures that members retain access to a reduced but high-quality golf course throughout the process. Led by renowned architect Martin Ebert, the renovation includes the complete reconstruction of all greens to a traditional links specification, using an indigenous sand rootzone for performance and sustainability. Grass species have been selected to reflect traditional links conditions, with a durable and sustainable bent/fescue blend. Each green will be enlarged and redesigned, accompanied by upgrades to all green surrounds, bunkers, many tees, and selected fairway areas. A full irrigation overhaul is also underway, featuring a new Rain Bird IC system with layout designed by Adrian Mortram of AMA Irrigation. The grow-in phase will be equally important, requiring expert management to ensure the successful establishment and maturation of the new playing surfaces. Attention to detail during this period will be essential to deliver the highest standards of course conditioning and to realize the full potential of the renovation for years to come. In alignment with the club’s longstanding commitment to environmental stewardship, the project includes the creation of several hectares of Natura 2000 protected habitat. This element of the renovation is being developed in close collaboration with dune ecology specialist Harrie van der Hagen, a trusted advisor to the club.
