Loughrea Golf Club is a premier 18-hole, Established in 1914, Par 71 parkland course, renowned for its excellent natural drainage, ensuring year-round play on permanent greens and tees. Situated just outside the historic market town of Loughrea, the club offers a scenic and welcoming environment for members and visitors alike.


We are seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented Greenkeeper to join our
expanding team. We are looking for someone to bring their existing expertise and experience to Loughrea Golf Club. With membership numbers growing and exciting development plans ahead, this is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the ongoing enhancement of one of Connacht’s finest courses.

Key Responsibilities:

  •  Reporting to the Head Greenkeeper, this role offers excellent prospects for future advancements.
  •  Collaborate with the Greenkeeping team and management to maintain the course to championship standards.
  •  Operate and maintain all turfgrass and golf course maintenance equipment.
  •  Mow greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and bunker tops.
  •  Rake and edge bunkers; repair divots and maintain course furniture.
  •  Perform aeration, irrigation, drainage work, and turf establishment.
  •  Apply nutrition, top dressing, and assist with spraying (certificates beneficial).
  •  Mark hazards, out-of-bounds areas, and ground under repair.
  •  Change hole cups and set up the course for daily play.
  •  Ensure equipment is cleaned and maintained regularly.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  •  Previous experience in greenkeeping or turf management.
  •  Spraying certificates advantageous but not essential.
  •  Chainsaw experience & certifications advantageous but not essential.
  •  Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  •  Skilled in operating a variety of golf course maintenance machinery.
  •  Flexible approach to early starts and rotational weekend work.
  •  Reliable, hardworking, with strong attention to detail and presentation standards.
  •  Positive attitude, good time management, and communication skills.
  •  Knowledge and passion for the game of golf.
