Full job description:

Tralee Golf Links was established in 1896 and is situated on the southwest coast of Ireland. Tralee Golf links is a traditional links golf course consisting of a world renowned 18-hole championship course, a 6-hole par 3 course and top-of-the-range practice facilities.



The club is seeking applications for a highly motivated, team-orientated individual to join our Greenkeeping team. Experience in the use of turfgrass maintenance equipment is required, although full training will be provided in all aspects of greenkeeping. Tralee is ranked among the Top 100 Links Courses in the world and is regularly voted in the Top 10 of Golf Digests Top 100 Courses in Ireland. The successful candidate will be involved in the daily maintenance of the course along with the works for the proposed Master Plan of Course changes for the coming years to make Tralee Golf Links the best it can be.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Work alongside the Greenkeeping team and management to ensure the links are properly prepared for members and guests. 

2. Operation of all Green Keeping equipment.  

3. Mow greens, tees, fairways, roughs and bunker tops.

4. Raking and edging bunkers. 

5. Complete any drainage work. 

6. Aerating and irrigating turf. 

7. Applying nutrition and top dressing. 

8. Repairing divots. 

9. Preparing ground for and establishing turf. 

10. Marking of hazards, out of bounds and ground under repair. 

11. Maintaining golf course furniture. 

12. Change hole cups and set up the golf course. 

13. Clean equipment on a regular basis. 

14. Maintain clubhouse grounds and car park.


 The ideal candidate will need to possess the following qualifications, experience, and skills:


  • Experience within the Greenkeeping industry (beneficial but not essential).
  • Spraying certificates PA1, PA 2 and PA6 (beneficial but not essential).
  • The ability to work as an individual or as part of a team.
  • Experience of operating a variety of golf maintenance equipment (beneficial but not essential).
  • A flexible approach to work early starts and rotational weekend work is required.
  • Reliable, hardworking with excellent presentation skills and attention to detail.
  • A positive attitude with good time management and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the game of golf.
