Key Speakers

My name is Richard Stapleton, I’m 40 years old and live near Navan in County Meath. Though initially I had no guidance in terms of what career path I wished to take, the week of my 16th birthday I responded to a local paper job offer, left school and began work in Headfort Golf Club in Kells. From here I gained a HNC in Golf Course Management in Elmwood College in Scotland. Work continued throughout various golf clubs, into civil engineering, (into a recession!), into sportsturf contractor work, into construction, and eventually into Fairyhouse where I have been Track Foreman for 2 years now. I like to think I’m a modest person, never admit to knowing it all and always want to better myself. My wife and two children have shown me the importance of being a good influence and role model to others.
